Apogee Reptarium bearded dragon? Has anyone used this kind of cage for a bearded dragon? I plan to buy one for my 3 year old Beardie. There is more to her 40 gallon breeder. The Apogee Reptariums are large enough, I watched one gallon 100, and there are cheap ($ 61 for a gallon 100). I have heard good and bad things about housing a bearded dragon in this type of habitat. What do you think?
Here are a couple of sites that sell them.

Honestly, if your Beardie has lived in the tank 40 gallon breeder (im assuming its glass) all his life and you spend all the mesh or partial mesh Reptarium changes in the environment will be drastic.
If you live in a desert in Arizona or other area as the cage would be "OK" for outdoor use. Other then that its not very good. Their so cheap because its price is low. Mesh is a general tendency to detach from the wall and result in your Beardie wandering.
They do not heat at all, and if you're worried about humidity levels forget. They do not control the climate Beardie your needs.
I strongly suggest not getting one. I myself have a Beardie 5 years is very comfortable in the tank 55 gal wide. You can usually find cheap used tanks in the classifieds, or you can post your own for one wanted to add in the classifieds.
A tank of 100 gallons for a Beardie is quite spacious, but not mandatory. If you do not find that used only save up. glass tanks last forever and if you take good care of them you can usually sell them for what the value later.
The only problem is they do not heat well if you cover three sides and keep the reptarium in a room that remains at a constant temperature hot
Yes you can not exactly be a hot bulb on them, but you can put inside. Their is also reptile.com LLL which sells for cheap like that and Petco Animal quen too good or PetSmart. If you buy a think about how you're going to clean it. It's like a mesh cage only floorless screen, he could make a mess because you put your mind on it the most brilliant reptarium the better. You would need about 3160 watt bulbs for brigten everything. Good luck!
In fact, they are very good for bearded dragons my best friend has a bearded dragon in one of these cages and Beardie he loves. I also get a Beardie this week, and when he does more than what I use. So I know you can not put heat lamps on the fence, but you can go to the pet store they sell these things that are like hooks and you hang your lamb heat from a distance or ceiling . Oh I also forgot the breeder that my friend got his Beardie use of these cages height of his Beardies too.
Good Luck
