Aquarium Heater Pet Supplies

Aquarium Heater Pet SuppliesHow long does it take to cycle without fish in an aquarium 10g?

Sorry to ask so many questions. I really want to make sure it's good.

On Wednesday, I'll enjoy my aquarium supplies.
(Plants hood + light, gravel, heating, filter, air pump, test kit water dechlorinator, pure ammonia, background, ornaments) I intend to cycle tank during one month, because it's how long it will be before I can get the fish anyway. The pet store is too far. Is 1 month long enough?

And here are the instructions I have for a cycle without fish, please let me know if they are correct:
1. aquarium set up. Add gravel, plants, filter, pump, heating, air, and the decor.
2. Keep pump running at maximum capacity throughout the process of cycling.
3. Do not change the water during the process of cycling.
4. Add 30-40 drops of pure ammonia. Ammonia levels should be 4-5.
5. Test ammonia per day. When he reached one, add more.
6. Continue to add ammonia until the levels go from 5-0 in 8:00.
7. Once the ammonia levels are balanced, test for nitrites. The levels should be very high.
8. Continue to add ammonia daily to keep it stabilized at 1-2.
9. When levels of nitrite remain at 0 for 24 + hours, you're done.
10. Keep adding ammonia until you add the fish. Make a water change of 90% before adding the fish.

The site I am the instructions say nothing about what should be nitrate, nitrite while. So, before adding the fish, which should be the nitrate levels? And assuming that the process of cycling is done in one month is when I'll get my fish (3 male guppies, 1 dwarf gourami, 2 dwarf African frogs.) When I get my fish, I will also be the purchase stress coat, rolled tetracolor tropical fish, algae chips, and live / frozen foods.

Is that all sounds good now?

When you have 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites .... it does not really matter what the issue of nitrate (and this is important, but nitrate is the least toxic product of the bio-filter inside the filter) you are capable of stocking.

Ideally, you should nitrates 10 or less for the better growth of fish.

The water changes of 90% will not kill all the bacteria ... Basically, you have to remove the food source (the traces of ammonia) and add another (the fish). bacteria never really know the difference.
and yes, pure ammonia is a chemical hard ... but it is the most efficient and fastest way to "fish-less" cycle.Fish food is quite long, but to launch a dead shrimp in the tank will help.

My advice is read several articles for more views on the bike ... I like it ... ... http://www.theoscarspot.com/viewtopic.ph .
You're on the right track but it is all the tests on water and reading ..... should be as long as necessary until the readings are right.

Experience from several sources, I learned that the use of pure ammonia to cycle the tank is extremely dangerous for you and your fish. I would do a cycle of fish less than a different way. Instead of adding ammonia to add fish food. Put food fish in the aquarium and the daily food will produce ammonia in your aquarium. The time it takes to complete a cycle of fish varies less, but it usually takes about a month. If you do not use ammonia to cycle your aquarium, you can get your fish in a month. Just testing the water before you get the fish. Also never do a water change of 90% that kill most bacteria beneficial.

Do not worry about using ammonia to cycle your tank. Just put a little fish food where you get it setup and let nature take its course. Check the settings of the water once a week. when the ammonia is zero, you should be good to go. one month should be a lot of time.
