The first and most important thing is the construction of a cage or enclosure. You must provide a good place where they can move while having the freedom they enjoy in the wild.

Look for a cage that is spacious and secure. A large room or a wardrobe can be a good place where they can move. You can add artificial plants and branches where they can climb and hang. If your iguana is still young, be sure to make the appropriate size of the cage. A smaller one with no hole is recommended so that they will not escape from the cage. When your iguana grows and becomes accustomed to his new home, you can expand the area so it will not look crowded.

Another thing to consider in building an iguana cage is the circulation of air. Find a cheap but comfortable wardrobe with good air circulation. You can put a little cheap, and quiet fan to help regulate the air and increase the temperature and humidity inside the cage. A firm that has good air circulation can also inhibit the growth of mold. But when mold problem occurs, simply wash the walls with water and bleach.

During the night, you can use a heating pad to heat your iguana. Look for a bulb that consumes less electricity. You can simply screw a bulb of 75 watts on the wall of the cage.

Leave your iguana adapt first to the new enclosure. Iguanas could get hurt or traumatized when placed in a new environment. Iguanas normally react if placed in a new enclosure by rubbing and scraping the walls. It is desirable that you stay with your iguana as they explore. Try to link with your pet until he became familiar with his new environment.

Be careful on the electrical connections located on the housing. All wiring must be carefully located in areas where your iguana can not reach them. Iguanas are creatures intrusive, they will try to jump and climb on hot plugging of equipment available and light.

Finally, keep your pen away from parasites. Remove left over food as soon as possible. Remember that cleanliness is the most important factor to avoid potential problems.
