there is usually a market for all kinds of art ... The typical buyer generally depends on how the painting is represented or the style is set in. .. and of cource the way it's done.

Japanese style?

It depends on the quality of work. I helped to curate a show of paintings about the birds that have visited the East Coast a few years ago. There is certainly a market, but quality is important.
