Bird Be Gone

Bird Be GoneCan I leave my dog in the same room with my new bird while I'm gone?

I have a lab who wanders around the house while we went and I just bought a new bird. I can not lock up my dog, any suggestions?

Until the dog and the bird know each other you can not keep them in the same room while your party. I suggest you keep them around eachother while your in the same room. See how they react to each other once or twice before letting them on their own. Even then, keep your bird cage closed and high when your dog can not reach. If you do not get there for that, do not confine your dog, keep your bird locked in a bedroom or small space like a bathroom (in his cage.) Good luck!

Well you'll have to lock your dog in a separate room ... Or simply put your bird in a separate room ... Perhaps the bathroom while you are away? What matter a bit what is it? The dog will most likely get their hands on the poor, injure or possibly kill him (although in the cage). Please do not take the chance, be responsible.

How does he react to the bird. If it shows a negative interest in it, do not leave him alone with her. Do you have a room, you can close to save the bird while you are away?

If the bird in a cage is very secure, and if the laboratory does not really show an interest there is probably no worries. I have three dogs, two are part of the laboratory, there is gold and I have two birds. Dogs do not disturb the birds at all. I do not let the birds from their cages when the dogs are in the house, but they are all in the house all the time together without any problems - other than shouting and whistling bird dogs all the time.

so if your dog is nice and friendly then yes you can lock in the same room and, if it is bad then NO! if it's something you should think, because if the bird is frightened when you went after the dog goes so I think you should put the bird burst by the dog and do not let go of the bird and If they agree, then you've got this good!

:)
your welcome

Put the bird in a separate room. No matter how new or old the bird is never trusted predatory animals around them unattended, the dog hunting instincts (albeit often Nice) and could find a way to make evil, even the bird in the cage. In addition, the bird is frightened enough to have moved into a new house far from knowing everything, an animal of prey in the area would put even more stress.

If your bird is in a cage in height, but only if your dog is doing bad, if not its fine

Keep high cage!

Well, if they agree then yes maybe but I would leave them alone, because the dog could injure or even kill. Which you have a bird cage?

Start writing a eulogy for your bird. You just dial up the right combination for pain. The dog will not leave the bird alone until he has eaten. I would put the bird in the garage of a radio instead of leaving it in the house with the dog. You can not lock the cage in a room? Have you thought about it before you bought the bird?

Sounds like you need to find a good home for the bird.

I would not trust a dog around my bird. One of my birds died because a dog got hold of him. I would not even think you have the bird when the dog was there. Dogs are instincts and the birds are animanls prey. Keep the bird in your room with the door closed when you are away.

Why do you ask? new bird is very young? the dog is interested in relations with minors inappropriate? j / k

Can you lock the cage height, such as a hook in the ceiling, where the dog can not get it? Can you close the bird cage in the bathroom, bedroom or others while you are away? I've never had a dog attack my cage, but I can not predict what your dog might do. If you place the bird in a closed room all day, remember.
