Birds Of Paradise Plant

Birds Of Paradise PlantHow To Grow beautiful bird of paradise plants

Strelitzia or bird of paradise is a beautiful tropical plant research with showy flowers that do indeed look a little bird. It can be grown outdoors in areas that do not receive more than a very light frost, which means USDA zones 9-11 in the United States. Streletzia comes from regions of South Africa, where it enjoys a mild climate and rainfall throughout the year. Bird of Paradise is a striking and easy to grow plants, a favorite of landscape especially in southern California. The only real criticism that can be Streletzia is used because it is so attractive and reliable.

Strelitzia is a genus of five species of perennials, in particular, including Strelitzia reginae Strelitzia Nicolai. Strelitzia reginae is also known as bird of paradise, and showy flowers of orange and blue. Strelitzia reginae is normally 2 to 3 feet in height but can reach a height of 6 feet. Strelitzia Nicolai is also known as the giant bird of paradise and has large showy flowers that are white and blue-black. Strelitzia Nicolai is normally 6 to 10 feet in height, but can reach heights up to 20 feet. All Strelitzia form circular clumps slowly increase from year to year and can become very important. I've heard that birds of paradise can be intrusive, perhaps because these clumps robust exceed neighboring plants. However, they are quite slow growing and can be easily held in check with annual maintenance in normal circumstances.

Bird of paradise are grown in a variety of soils in a variety of combinations of sun visors and is tolerant to drought. You see this plant alive and well in almost any soil and sun with little irrigation, which explains why it is so widely used in landscaping for residential and commercial areas. The ideal soil for birds of paradise would be peat, compost and sharp sand in roughly equal parts. The ideal placement for birds of paradise would be mainly sunny with a little shade. A sunny location will give more flowers, resulting in a shady foliage Lusher. Bird of Paradise does well in drought areas, but the new planting should be well irrigated at least once a week in the heat of summer. Once established the plant can often survive without irrigation, but it is better to watch with a weekly watering. To maintain a healthy diet Strelitzia occasional light fertilizer or compost is recommended.

Strelitzia can be propagated by division or from seed, but propagation by division is the usual and qucker much easier. Strelitzia important roots will form, so you want a good sharp spade to divide a clump. You take one part of a package exists, you'll first want to identify feasible to remove the section of the mat, not your shovel a good point of division, and digging with a cleaner cut the roots as possible. If you are instead of taking a bunch and divide it into several smaller plants, then you may want to dig first, the whole bunch to get a better look at the structure of the root before division. Anyway, unless you damage the roots of the better, so less hacking best. Any roots that are badly damaged in the process must be removed with pruning shears. Once you're done by dividing the bunch I advise you to put roots with a fungicide powder on all the exposed roots. Plants were divided may take some time to recover before flowering.
