Build Your Own Vivarium

Build Your Own VivariumWhat is the price of float glass for building your own aquarium?

I would like to create my own custom aquarium and I recently discovered that the float would be the best glass to use for this.

I want the tank must be long enough, since I'm turning into a vivarium for my turtles.

I need to know how much it will cost me to buy sheets of float glass? or if I can just use ordinary glass to this place?

I'm looking for something cheap, but quality too.

Thank you for the help:)

Float glass is ordinary glass. Just thicker glass - commonly known as plate glass.

I once heard the term (float) used before. It was at Wheaton Arts Museum was a center of glass in the 19th century. The dean has been to explain how the molten glass is poured onto a layer of molten tin for making flat glass sheets. It is commonly known as plate glass. Frankly, you can get a better response by calling a glass shop and give the dimensions. They will give you a quote. But I venture to say that it will be cheaper to just buy an aquarium. Note that if you do the construction of the tank and never thought to fill it with water you really need to consider the stress on the glass. long panels will collapse under pressure unless they are very thick or reinforced. You will find reinforcements on the tops of commercial aquarium with the long sides. I know a guy who cut the plastic reinforcement because it got in the way of the filter and did not collapse until he is fully implemented and all the fish.
