Caring For Blue Tongue Lizards

Caring For Blue Tongue LizardsHelp care for injured blue tongue lizard. Please read for details?

I found a language of medium to large blue in my backyard and it has a strong reduction above its hind legs as he had been attacked by a bird. I know how to deal with the blue tongue, are food and housing and what not, but I'm not pursuing what he must do the cutting. it is not bad enough to take him to the vet or RSPCA, but I think I should bandage or something until it is better. So what do I do?

There are wildlife sanctuaries across Australia would be able to take the lizard to release back into your backyard, or at least give you advice.
They should be able to evaluate the wound and give you appropriate advice to care for the lizard until it can be released.
Function of the state where you live, there are different numbers you can call to be directed to your accommodation as close to the wildlife experience with a blue tongue skink.
In Victoria, the number is 130094535

Here's a link to pages for many rescue organizations of wildlife across the country:

I know from experience that the tires do not stick or stay on the blue tongue skink in very well.

The best thing to do is probably to use an antiseptic cream - if you have something like Neosporin or Savlon they will - and put a thin layer of the cup. Once you have applied in an enclosure to keep clean and sterile until the wound is healed so that dirt does not penetrate into the wound.
