During treatment against hay fever in cats? During a weekend my cat's eyes went from light pink to red, swollen and crusty. I took him to the vet who diagnosed hay fever, she gave him eye drops to crusting and the swelling was caused by her scratching itchy eyes. There was no ulcer on her eyes but she remains on antibiotics to ensure there is no infection. She did not prescribe anything for his hay fever, as she says I should finish the course of medication, she gave first. She said I could get drugs from hay fever on the counter or return to her for a prescription of steroids. I assumed it meant I could buy over the counter in a store for pets, but when I went there the staff could not help.
I have four days left of his order and had hoped to buy his treatment of hay fever in that I can begin to explain it away. The pet shop is just around the corner, but my veterinarians is miles (and they do not answer questions by phone from calls are received by a receptionist not a veterinarian). As I do not drive and my cat gets angry about public transport as I had hoped I could find advice here. However, if nobody can help, of course, I will make the long trip to the vet again.
I know people can be nasty / sarcastic responses, I will also highlight the veterinarians I attend do not have all the requirements of the animal without being seen. Unless of course, is a repeat prescription for a long-standing illness. Therefore, it is impossible to escape to take my cat on the long trip to the vet and it is not just laziness on my part. I will also note there is a veterinarian who is closest to my house, but it is not as good or as reliable as a diagnosis - so why should I travel far.
I would appreciate if someone knows more cons of treatment my vet meant.
You need to call veterinarians you went to ask what prescription drugs to the vet and mean dose. It may not be the receptionist answering the phone at the vet is normal, but the receptionist may ask the vet or the vet can get you back. That's what my Vets do.
