Cat Hoarders

Cat HoardersWhy do people generally claim that people with a lot of cats are "cat hoarders?

What about people like me who stretch their incomes and capabilities as much as possible to help as many of our pets as they can? People like me do not hoard ... People like me are doing our best to help the hair.

What you say?

I used to be friends with a girl who was a cat collector. She had eight cats and could not afford to feed them. She did not buy cat food for them and left them to go foraging in his trash for food. She never cleaned their house and shit absolutely stank. She had cat poo everywhere and cat fur all over everything. The cats were thin and hungry, and she would not leave them outside except for a cat that she attached to a string. They were infested with fleas, and she gave them water, they had his flat to drink dirty laundry.

The difference between you and it is that you look after your pets and cats because you really have at heart and you do your best to ensure they are supported and have a life happy. She just had cats because, although she was a hoarder. People like my old friend is what gives people like you a bad reputation as a cat collector.

I stopped being friends with this girl because of his bad treatment of animals. I took one of his cats at home with me because she said she would kill him. I have him neutered and he has lots of food and love. It is now a happy cat Kitty.

Keep doing what you do and if people are ignorant have something to say about it, just tell them the story I just told you and that is why you do it. To save the lives of cats.

Good question, but unfortunately, unless you run a shelter, having too many cats at home almost always qualifies you as a monopolist. But again, how much is too much. If you live in an apartment building and you have more than 10 cats, is hoarding. If you live in a suburban house and you have more than 50 cats, is hoarding.

It does not matter what the good service you are trying to do for cats. If you are unable to take care of yourself while taking care of your cat, you're not doing them any good. You said yourself, you must stretch your income and your ability to meet their needs. And when you lacked the financial means and are physically ill to look after them more, what's next?

You have a good heart and I'm sure you're a wonderful person. I believe in your cause. What you need to do is to find manageable amount of cats you are able to take care of everything. If you feel that you are able to do this with the number of cats you have now, can I really thank you for taking them under your wing. Otherwise, however, it is best to plan on a good strategy in repatriating cats.

I agree. I love cats and try to do my best in helping them. I myself have five indoor cats who have come from everywhere. Hoarding refers generally to those who suffer from mental disorders and can not take care of 80 cats that they have "collected".

I say it depends on how many cats you have, LOL. Kidding. I feel as long as you can buy food, fresh neutral spay /, and regular veterinary check-ups you can have as a pet you want.

Kittens Good for you, take care! The issue of hoarding is, you are a collector, if you can not take care of all the cats you have. If they arent being supported, then you are a collector.
