Thousands of cats find a home in the rescue of a cat. These cats are not always small pets are usually at home. Sometimes the cats in question are big cats such as mountain lions or tigers. Purchased through the black market and bought because they are unique creatures, big cat breeds start small and cuddly, but soon reach large proportions that most owners are not prepared to face.

Feline rescue measures when the owners find they can not handle their exotic pets longer. Either the owner abandons the big cats, thinking that because the cat was "savage" First, it can easily manage on their own, or they start to neglect the animal.

Worse still, the animal attacks someone. The authorities are rushing and do their best to remedy the situation, sometimes having to put the animal on site. If the deer is lucky, the authorities saw fit to send the cat rescue center.

A zoo is not an option. Many times this is where the trade started. Unscrupulous zoos breed of big cats in captivity to increase attendance at the zoo because the public loves to see the newborns. When cats are grown, the public loses interest, and the zoo can not sustain the largest cat.

The animal is sold to private brokers who then turn around and sell the animals to the public. Anyone could end up with the feline. Worse yet, the owner may try to breed the cat to have another cub or cubs to sell to his friends. When this occurs, the cycle begins again.

Supply and demand are the two biggest factors contributing to big cat breeds are found in a rescue cat. The farmers will farm cats, and the public continue to buy them. People have a fascination for approaching an exotic feline. What the public fails to understand is that there is a huge responsibility that goes with ownership of big cats.

Cats were never meant to be pets to begin with. You can not keep them inside, outside and keep a big cat is not much better. These breeds of cat rough play. They are hunters, and thousands of years of instinct tells them they are on top of the food chain.

The baby tiger will not "bond" with your toddler. This is not a Disney movie. You can bet that when the tiger reaches maturity, your child, your pet home, and you can be labeled as lunch.

Others who have been in show business are nervous wrecks over-stimulation or nearly blind in one lifetime of flash bulbs and the lights of photo shoots. The people who run shelters have the resources and experience to raise the animal properly and meet the nutritional needs of cats.

Only eight states have enacted bans breeds possess big cats as pets since 2005. The number of deaths related to possession of a large cat continues to grow, as all that is necessary for an individual to possess a large cat for a commercial business in the United States is very low and a permit from the USDA .

Breaking the cycle of responsible conservation of big cats for future generations is an important factor in their survival.
