Cat spray? My cat is 5 years. old and all of a sudden he is spraying in one area of the house. He uses his litter box well, but why the spraying?
Is it not neutered?
try putting a lemon on the spot where he sprayed, because they generally choose a place and come back. It wont come near him. My cat is almost 15 years, we never got him neutered ... He was spraying everywhere ... and then we heard something of lime ... and it worked! Flag
He claimed his territory. Get him neutered, he will stop.
It is a smell that nothing can escape.
I have maybe 3 of 9 doing the same thing 2 are the women on the other is a little agreesive they all know better still have not yet released firgured are 9 years and they are mostly in Outside cats
Spraying is often a cry for help. Your cat may be sick or feeling very stressed for some reason. If it has not been seen by a vet recently, it is worthwhile to take him for a check to ensure that he is not suffering from a urinary tract infection or bladder.
If stress is the cause, you need to establish the source of his anxiety, and eliminate or mitigate it. Feliway is good for helping cats feel more emotionally stable, but you must use it for at least three weeks before starting to see the benefits.
The Haddon Cat Problem page has a really good article entitled Feline Marking territory that has lots of information on why cats begin spraying (not just land) and good advice on how to solve the problem, products for use cleaning and preventing reoccurrence further.
