Cats Broadway Cast

I understand what it means to Broadway, but when they say cast? Do they mean that the songs are sung by the cast members of Broadway?

Also, do not copy and paste a response from the Internet. Also, do not say this means that cast members from Broadway to West End cast members. This is not what I asked. If you do not know the answer, do not try to BS your way through it, just leave my only question, unless you're head high enough to give a valid answer.

Yes, the songs are sung by * a * Broadway Cast. The cast changes, and the show is not re-registered when it happens. We had an applicant here some time back who wanted to know if she could get a CD from some night * she * have participated! No. . .

The CD's are usually registered with the original cast of Broadway, the people who were originally in the show. Every once a while they will make another record, but they usually do not unless a revival or something. Then they'll do a CD with the band of renewal.
