Ceramic Heat Lamp

Ceramic Heat LampCan I use a regular 60watt lamp that I found in my house to heat my tortoise pen and a ceramic lamp?

I used a heat lamp ceramic pen clipped to my turtle but it does not seem to be producing enough heat for my turtle to stay warm. I found a clip on desk light and it seems to produce more heat (it has a 60watt bulb) would this be allowed to use my lamp and ceramic Baring in mind that it is not designed to heat a tortoise pen.

Get a thermometer and really test things before you modify anything. If the ceramic is not doing the job, I replace it with a bigger and get a thermostat to control security.

It is not a real problem using the 60 as it does not burn the tort.

I would go ahead and get a different lamp ceramic lamp and a UV spectrum. adding a light bulb will probably not increase the heat and is bright and unnecessary.

Yes but be careful it is not too hot .... have a thermometer you can see here
