reptile cages to measure? going to build very large cage for my custom red tail boa, and my monitor Nile,,,, so it will be big enough so I do not need to build one ever ... So what is the best material to use and where to find them for cheap? also if anyone has any sites that show examples of custom cages or free .. blue and all you can say?
The case for the boa to be simple, the walls of the Nile will be a challenge (I finally updated my big girl in a room I built for her in the garage). I use plywood, 2x4 and plexiglass. I have also built pens and 2x12 them look beautiful, and using MDF. I suggest you check your local store renovation and do some comparison shopping. Here are some links to some models ~

This should give you some general ideas on where to start. Good luck!
I will do my bearded dragon, corn snakes and 2 and also my python soon red at the rear, is to take a comfortable or an entertainment center / tv stand and in a cage reptiles. it should be easy, you need to take glass or Plexiglas for the front-im going to make a sliding door, but you can do hinges you take a waterproof paint that is safe for reptiles and paint the inside to keep the wood molding. set up a light fixture inside and you're done! hope this helps:)
Beckey has given you some good links. I acutally use it:

And I'm pretty happy with how mine turned out. Except:
Iron on melamine pad before you put on the plastic window monitoring
Drill ventilation holes before putting the sides of the viv together and sandwich the sides of the viv over some trash. It will prevent the drill from busting through the other side of melamine and tear the finish line.
