Then a light or regular fluorescent light bulbs are used for reptiles? I'm building a custom tank for my bearded dragon, and I was wondering if I can use a fluorescent lighting fixture with bulbs reptile? The bulb in a bulb is specifically UVB. I do not want to buy a custom device light have it safe to go inside .... Thank you.
A fluorescent light bulb waste does not provide heat or UV light so it would be useless.
A mercury vapor bulb is ideal for bearded dragons, because it provides heat, UV light. They last a little over a year and are only $ 30 on Big Apple Herpetolgical.
Yes one day the regular fluorescent like this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/pr ... works very well.
I do not see why you could not. I never buy those specially designed for the bulbs I get my at Lowes.
