Thank you very much!

A quick search found this: -

Is your choice of Eclectus due to the absence of dust or color?
Since you want a hand reared baby, which means that you want for a pet, you need a male.
Unfortunately women rarely a good bond with humans and even the high end hand as cage birds which is a shame because they are color dramatically.

Green parrots, Amazons may be easier now if you are not allergic.

Page v. Women - ok my sample size is small, but the four Eclectus women I've known, none has been safely home after a few years. They are beautiful as youth.

(Some Parrot) rescues will not repatriate female Eclectus to anyone without an aviary.
If female Eclectus is the good family pets you do not think they would parrot the most popular?

Sorry I can not help you with buying one, but I had to meet the man vs. woman thing LOL

You're right, the whole myth about women. I can not believe how many people continue to say these things about the woman of today. Sue, you really need to do more research than females rarely differ, others not at all. But like all species of parrots, of course, you always have the opportunity to differ.

Good luck in your research and do not hesitate to forum Eclectus :-)

They are found in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, northeast Australia and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas). It is unusual in the parrot family for its extreme sexual dimorphism. The male of the species are bright green, bright with candy corn-colored upper and lower mandibles mandibles black, and blue or red tail and wing feathers, while females have a red head and Blue-breasted purple with a black beak. Joseph Forshaw, in his book Parrots of the World, noted that the first European ornithologists to see Eclectus Parrots thought they were two distinct species. High populations of this parrot is in Papua New Guinea, where they are sometimes considered pests for eating fruit on the trees. Their bright feathers are also used by indigenous tribes as decorations.
