The introduction of a sun and a cheek Conure? I have a sun conure (10 months) had for about a week. I also have a parakeet who is still playing to farmers (not yet weaned). Anyway, I have a new cage I'm planning on housing both in. Should I put the sun in it now or put them both in the same time? Are these two together?
I want to make the first home eco Cheek. I would not put them in the same cage. The two birds tend to be aggressive in a cage. Even if you put the two in a new cage, I would not advice, they become territorial. They should get along well during their free time. Each time you let them out of the cage, let them play together. The Sun is bigger than green cheek, but if there is not in the same cage play time, will be a great time with a buddy.
Please do not just put them both into the same cage. Instead of putting two cages next to each other and present them that way. In reality, you should definitely quarantine your new bird for at least 30 days in another room to help prevent the spread of the disease. If introduced slowly both must agree, because they are young.
You should not house them together. You never want to house birds of different species together, even if they are both conures they are always different species. You will stay together and you risk hurting the other. They should be together during play and must be closely supervised when they are together.
Yes quarantine the baby. You always want to quarantine a new bird, regardless of whether it came from the same breeder, you do not know what breeder has bought since you got your last bird. Better safe than sorry.
