Horse Stalls

Horse StallsBoxes for horses?

What is the best litter or things to put in the bottom of a stall that has a dirt floor? also what is the size of a stall for a nomal> averagwe horse size and, finally, no toys stall really know your horse during the day?

12 x 12 stall is the normal size for a regular size horse.

If you plan to keep your horse in most of the day and only do a partial turn and wood chips or straw are Nice, he gives the horse some leeway and it usually keeps on the downward dust of the earth. (Although if you get chips at low prices, they can be just as dusty, if that is the case, just spray a little water down before putting your horse in the stable), I slightly out of rubber mats in my stalls it is for easy cleaning and clearing when you have a shovel, as I have done saves stall floor. A tip: Instead of going out and getting the carpet specially designed to go into a stall automotive parts store and get the flat bed liners made of rubber for truck beds, they are exactly the same and much cheaper.

Toys really depend on your horse, I've seen balls horse gallon milk jugs tied on the string. Some horses like them and it keeps them occupied and ignore others just push them into a corner.

I use a mixture of pellets (Ter Amigo) and chips (love the flavor). Especially dumplings with a light covering of chips, pellets are great economic and bedding. This is a layer of ashes on the dirt floor and under the duvet. One of my shelves is 12 x 12 the other 8 1 / 2 x 11. The biggest drop is the optimal size, but my little pony (14 cons) loves the smallest stall. The stands are open if the horses can come and go as they wish. One of my horses do not know all the toys, the other loves his Jolly Ball, red apple dangling, and nothing else, it can turn into a toy. A horse is not a creature destined to be enclosed in a box all day .... wandering and grazing is natural. Toys not compensate for its lack of freedom.

(1) You should get a rubber mat.
(2) While most wood chip set, no straw, it does not absorb as well as wood chips.
(3) 12 X 12 ft. stall is the average size for the horse of medium size. This is the min. recommended. Most boarding stables that have dock size. You really do not need a whole
largest and certainly very small.
(4) I do not know about the toy stall. I have never used. But I'll be making one soon, and may even be those that hang from the ceiling and the taste of apple or something they can lick

The best thing to do on a dirt floor of a stall, first to level the playing field, lay gravel, then put stall mats over this. The gravel will absorb urine which passes under the carpet, so dirt does not become turbid and eventually the transfer of your carpet in the correct order. The best bedding is put sawdust / wood chips. Many stands are usually 10x10, 12x12 or. Personally, I do not use bullets stall or something like that. Although my mother and her stallion has the best time with his ball drop.

I like to meet UWF's.

Just a few points to add to others:

If you put the bedding directly on the dirt, it absorbs moisture from the soil. Therefore, the rubber mat helps a lot.

Is added to soil a few inches of AG lime (finely ground limestone) and compact with a tool. This gives you the basis for urine drainage and helps to neutralize the odor. In some areas the soil is very sticky, we even put a small septic tank (filled with stones and then covered with tar paper) under the lime in each stall AG. It really helps drainage. The pit is about 3 'around and a foot or so deep.

Then, lime AG and rubber mats.

I am a big fan of pine pellets. I know they are expensive per bag, but if you're a diligent cleaning your st.
