What animal feed storage tank is the best? I tried several kinds of food containers for pets and have not yet found one I like. So far, I tried stackable storage bins by Blitz (http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT% 3C% = 845524441781987 & FOLDER% 3C 3Eprd_id% = 2534374302025790 & ASSORTMENT 3Efolder_id % 3C% 3East_id = 2534374302023689 = 1182728312968 & & bmUID itemNo = 10 & In = Dog & N = 2025790 & Ne = 2) and I think by Rubbermaid (http://www.petco.com/product/12461/Rubbermaid- Pets-Scoop-n-Store-Pet-Food-Storage.aspx). Neither met my expectations. A few days later I had ants galore. Not good. The Rubbermaid looks good, but the lid broke and no longer works. Do not want to pay money for a new until I find one with good remarks. The only requirements I have is that it can contain at least 40 pounds of dog food and be able to keep unwanted noise.
Hello! I bought my containers (on wheels!) From PetEdge and love! Our clinic also buys airtight containers from them. I'll try to find the exact location for you! Hey!
OK! Here it is: http://www.petedge.com/Pet-Food-Containe ...
PS I bought the container that holds 50 pounds and I can actually fit 60 pounds comfortably in this container.
I own a farm, and of course every type of animal needs it own type of food for animals .... to food storage has become a huge problem. The animals that we have only a few of, animals where we buy food six hundred pounds at a time ... And all the time losing the power to pests, mold, and whatever ..
We now use the industry size barrels for the large quantity of food (containing three hundred pounds per barrel) ... and regular plastic storage bins for small quantities (fifty to one hundred pounds).
Containers for holding food is simply not hold up or do not work. But, plastic storage bins with snap on lids sitting in the barn and never acquire the ants, silverfish, moisture ... nothing. Go figure.
I just use a Rubbermaid storage container and keep it on a table. It fits easily lb.s 50
Did you keep your pet food inside or outside? If it is inside, spraying the ground with Raid, then let it dry well, then place your container on the place where you sprayed. If you go outside, sprinkle a good layer of dust Sevin (in lawn and garden section of a store) on the ground around your container. Sevin will keep ants, slugs and other pests away from food buggy .... not to mention keeping the flea population down.
