This beautiful cat with a bushy tail delicious, and is striped with fur and long, is in fact a domestic cat which is surprising considering how great it is. The Maine Coon originated in North America and is also actually a native of Maine, where he was the cat state.

Maine Coon Cats also have a unique personality. They are often compared to dogs in fact. Unlike most breeds of cat, Maine Coon is very sociable with humans and other pets. These cats will actually run for you when you call them, and are likely to be sitting at the door waiting for you when you arrive home. They love lots of love and attention.

You may or may not be aware that cat shows are held in the country since 1861, and he was in the 1900s with the introduction of the Persian cat, the Maine Coon's popularity began to wane. But they bounced back in the 1950s and their association was founded in 1968, the Maine Coon breeders and fanciers association for the express purpose of protecting the breed. However, it was another 12 years before all the books recognized cat breed.
