No Scratch Spray

No Scratch SprayHas anyone used zero no spray to prevent their cat from scratching the furniture?

Did it work?? Have you any suggestions to avoid this and to help train your cat to stay away from the counters?

Wow sumpin I know ... In fact, I have a chance at best answer ... lol

I bought a product called No Scratch Marketed by Nala Barry Laboratories, the three main ingredients of this mixture (minus the preservatives) are, garlic, clove and mint. These odors are used partly because, as you know if you ever felt the aroma first, they are strong and tend to offend a cat rather sensitive (more sensitive, ours), smell. This product works for about 10 minutes, until the smell dissipates in the polyester of your carpet or drapes, leaving your cat scratching even harder at this point almost try to revive the strange smell. I soaked my * * if new layers of micro-fiber in it. Whether to go to the bathroom to shower and return to find my cats use it as a luxury item to zero. Um I hate products with false pretenses, the spray I used was called No Scratch as I said earlier, and well manufactured and marketed by Laboratoires NalaBarry, they have the company name Organics pet ... Note this does not work, well atleast not for long. I think doing what I tried, and a mixture of all three main ingredients in their natural form, it is more intense and does not dissipate as quickly, the more it feels very clean. Every few days you may have to spray the mixture again (mixed with vinegar and water these spices do not help), but it is better then the store bought in which you must spray every ten minutes . lol * Hint, very lil'vinegar, or your house smell like pickles *

To keep them out of counters, ... Buy Reynolds Wrap! Do I sound crazy, ... well here is a project for you, it'll be fun. Line counterparts favorite with Reynolds Wrap loose (it should be loose to make noise annoyed), then place a much sought after favorite possession of their over the counter. Wait, watch and enjoy. I did, and when my cat (6 months Moochy the dumb cow colored man I luv it), jumped on his favorite prohibited. The only sound in fear of aluminum foil to her she jumped twice the height of the computer and hid for 35 minutes. After six or seven times its mounting at the counter of a shock with foil, she resigned. From time to time (she is one year now), I pull out the tin foil to wrap something and she looks up at the counter, as is the devil ... lol They were also kept out my dresser where I put my perfume (by them I mean slippers and his older brother also Munky mut moo color). Shoot for a while when I had not yet made the house special "No spray scratch, I used it in front of doors to prevent them from scratch ... who had a sheet of aluminum has been so useful!

Sorry to be soooo long term, but I like cats, ... and I'm happy to help you

Sincerely, Dora

yes I tried a spray called b'have and it did not work, just use counters for negative reinforcement: Bad Kitty NO

I used to keep my cat from clawing the window screens and it seemed to work well.

I have a little secret for you, it worked for me and I hope it works for you. Get a water pistol and every time the cat is something you do not want it to do, spray him with water cannon. It works two ways, first few times after getting wet on the counter or scratching the furniture, he / she will stop doing this because they hate getting wet. Secondly, custom cat to associate the punishment with you and therefore accustomed to hold a grudge.

it works a little, but I do not work if it scratchesjust spray with a water gun, or keep on withdrawing its feet again and again. For meters slipery to a surface, so they always slide, and then if they keep slipping and I think that this is not a good idea to jump.
