Paradise Flowers

Paradise FlowersHow to get a birds paradise flowers start blooming?

I am more and more birds of paradise flowers
and I was wondering if there is no way to make the beginning of flowering.
It is the home plant variety

I'm not sure what you mean how to get them to bloom in early, or simply when the plants are as young as possible. I grew these few years, and experimented with their growing conditions for good flowering. Strelitzia Regina, I think it's the plant you have is a plant that likes to take his time with flowers - I guess you know this, so your question! Often, it takes 5 years minimum to get your first flowers.

They tend to be stimulated to flower if they are a little pot bound, it takes no more pot, even if they have huge roots that extend to their limit pots.

Give them plenty of light, so that you can really get the farm as well as possible. I have mine outdoors during the summer, and acclimitise on a couple of weeks, give them a few hours a day, before leaving them to. This gives them the maximum intensity that you can.

Otherwise, all plants need potassium (K) to produce flowers, and I do mine complete with potassium sulfate and feed during their growth period, with a general fertilizer. They usually bloom during the earlier part of the year, and I give them a good variation between night and day temperatures at minus 15 degrees Fahrenheit - which allows them to "know" that the winter, although they respond to light levels and day length too. Mist the leaves to keep in good shape, and clean sheets every two weeks to ensure they are not blocked by dust, which would restrict their growth.

Overall - high levels of light, potassium supplement feeds, restricting the size of the pot and allow them to become a little pot bound, and give them good day and night temperature variation.

Hope this helps. Good luck! Fly
