Parakeet Birds

Parakeet Birdsbudgie birds?

I was woundering how can you tell the sex of birds? please help. I have 3 parakeets.

watch the ceremony (the fleshy area around the nostrils)
the boys in blue
females are brown

I once had parrots. I think it had something to do with
the color lighter or darker around, beak. Look for parakeets on the net and it should tell you. Good luck with your birds. Mine made me mad, because they are almost never a quiet day. Play nature sounds with birds in it,
they like to hear other birds and sounds loud and clear.

You know how it looks a little, they have a nose? the area of skin they have around them are Nostril? well, the boys in blue parakeets / purple and brown girls. if its pink, then they are still a baby.

I used to have parakeets. You can tell by the color of the bird. When I got them the pet store told me that if it was a boy or a girl. You know when you need them .. You should consult parakeets on the internet, they should tell you.

It is easy, if the color of the bird is not solid white or solid yellow. The hills (part above the beak) when the bird is 3 to 4 months it will turn either red or blue brown for women if it is a male. when they are young, it is a little harder to say that females are usually pearly white, and males are generally purpleish blue, but it is not always the case.

The skin around the nostrils is called a ceremony ... if it is a peachy color or pink = girl
If it is a blue = boy
In addition, if all seem to be a purple ... they may be too young to say ..
Hope this helps!

The male has a blue ceremony (the right part above the beak), the female has a tan or brownish ceremony.

CERES is a good way to tell gender but for other parakeets parakeets not as good as most have not seen such a ceremony.

Other parrots need a vent test whether the birds are tame enough to hold your hand is easiest, if not wrap a towel in your hand to take hold of the bird. Hold the bird so it lays on his back and make sure the vent area is showing.

Use your index finger to feel the pelvic bones, you will feel two bones come close together, very gently to see if you can feel the bones moving a bit away, they do not move out then you if you have a male may feel they are moving a little bit different then you have a female bird. Hens need these bones to be soft and move so they can pass the eggs. Good luck sexing your birds:)

OK, here's what I heard from my friends (who happens to have experience)
the ceremony (the waxy swelling above their beak) is blue if it is a male adult, or brown if the adult female. but some species such as budgies foot can not determine sex in this regard. So here's another method that I heard:
watch their feet when they roost, usually the distance of the male legs are stronger than females (we're talkin about the distance of the leg), and men are more wings.
hope this helps ^ _ ^

the soft beak where the nostrils are ... brown / red / pink is a woman,
blue for men ...
Babies usually have a purplish iridescent pearl color beak.

Go to a veterinarian. They know all about the sex of the animals.

You must wait until a little air over a year, then two balls just above their beak. These balls are called ceres! If it is a dark blue or purple, it's a boy, if it is a flesh-colored or pink, it's a. But if you do not know yet, wait another few months!
