Rabbit Habitat

Our backyard slopes down to a greenbelt with a small lake. The fence has slats spaced at the bottom of about 5 "apart to avoid blocking the view. A bunny drag down the slope at times. I like planting things for him to eat, and also provide shelter. I know they like things like brush piles, but we have neighborhood covenants that I could not do something like that. Any suggestions?

I have several generations of rabbits nest under my shed. They dug just below. I guess that is generations I've lived here for 23 years and every year I'm nesting.
