Rabbit Nails? My rabbit is now a little over a year. It is a mini rex, therefore, his fur is thin, but her nails are growing faster than most breeds. It is more difficult to clip, and I know I could not take him to the vet. each week. Are there ways to help calm down when I have to clip them. (Yes, I know that all of hip-mo-tize (: P) thing, but it is not so easy as they get older)
someone hold it with a towel on the head when he feels strong
Instead of clipping his nails, you can try to give him something to scratch on what might bring them to a hard surface such as a patio
Mines a nightmare too, trying to claw its cute, although I rub his nose and that helps really calm. I also help my mother.
Their is really nothing you can do to keep the rabbits are very quiet spuirmey any way. I said that wrong.
The first answer is really the way forward, using a cloth.
I always take mine to Petsmart ... it goes nuts every time I try to cut his nails. She hates him and scratch and bite and do something out ... So I think it's worth $ 12 to someone else do it.
I have a mini rex and she is REAL hard to clip his nails. I have my boyfriend take the skin on the back of his neck / upper back and keep it sorta like that (like a cat hanging from the neck sruff) with his other hand supporting the rear end. I support her, as she seems to calm down. Easy access for cutting nails. You must WARNING it does not flip or funny when you're taking it well CAUTION does not go funny because rabbits have very fragile bones back.
If anyone thinks this is a way to do what is the proper way to hold / retain a rabbit to prevent injury.

I like to me like a baby as long as you hold them close to you and take your time, they feel safe, perhaps to a foot a day that way you do rabbits have to wait too long, so I ' will still hopes for you I would not Scruff his neck as it does make him feel it could jeopardize a bruse it you can leave it running on concrete, but rex rabbits have fine hair on legs so that there can rabbits claw normally be wise to take about two months before they need to grow mowing again (fortunately I have a $ 30 +) I find the rabbits like to feel safe while cutting your claws you in mind if your a race they know and do not stay still so I never cut the claws in the morning I found a show that does not work, I hope has been of some help

I have a mini bunny and he lives in a cage with a mixed race placed on the concrete nails it continues to delight - much easier then trying to fix it to cut his nails - rabbits are very sensitive about their feet, choose from, you tried sandpaper in the cage or cage in which HES might do the trick
Theres a few things yu can do really. My rabbit giant British House still stay there if I slowly turn on its back with its legs in the air. This works even better if you cover the eyes of rabbits. A rabbit thoughts on this question is very simple. "If i cannot see anything I should be safe" The problem is that once you start to cut the claws it may hinder the rabbit and he can move. I found a rabbit with my performance on comin round on the terrace in the garden at the back and cut the time and seems to be going well. Your best bet is to do all the above and gently wrap a towel in the rest of the rabbit gently keep forever. Definitely better if you can have two people, although I manage with mine. Hope this helps
PLEASE DO NOT HE neck. I work at a rescue operation, which is quite the right way to hold one.
