MarketplaceTropical Fish Surrey Holiday in the tropics on a Budget If you can not afford to spend thousands on a trip to the Caribbean and Splash Lagoon in Erie, Pennsylvania is the place for you. I found this little gem by accident trying to find a town near me that sells Powerball lottery tickets. It was a happy coincidence.
Splash Lagoon indoor water park is a last resort. What better way than 400,000 liters of water splashing around 84 degrees F while the air around you is maintained at a torrid 86F? There is a lovely lazy river that you can walk in a single tube or double (no extra charge for the use of tubes unlike many water parks). Splash Lagoon has 7 blades and 3 wild and crazy giant spa-and-one for adults only. Splash Lagoon has an area of little kiddies too called monkey island shines with small slides and a shallow pool. They also provide life jackets for children again without charge. Here you can play basketball in the water in the pool or the rise of the tree house tiki and soak unsuspecting people below you with a multitude of water cannons and sprayers.
The funniest is when when the chime sounds and Tiki people gather under the monstrous bucket tipping the possibility of having a thousand gallons of water dumped on them.
Once you enter the lagoon you really need never leave until closing. There is an ice cream stand, Dippin Dots. The Laguna Grill serves burgers and fries and pizza and beer. There are changing rooms with showers and towels are provided for free use for guests staying in a hotel connected to the lagoon. And most importantly for parents who want to stay dry while their offspring turn to prunes in water there is a dry area where you can sit in the park.
There are four hotels associated with Splash Lagoon. Residence Inn by Marriott, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn are all connected to the lagoon so it does not require refrigeration from your room or in the park. There is also the Econolodge on the street and offers a free shuttle to the course. If you book a hotel package ticket for the water park are included as is breakfast to all four of these hotels.
If you need more entertainment than it is an arcade and a surf shop and also laser tag all on the same property. Several local restaurants such as Applebee's will provide these hotels with no shipping costs.
Everywhere you just take I-90 and exit at the Peach Street. Splash Lagoon is just out and impossible to miss. The address is 8100 Peach St Erie, PA.
The second best thing about Erie, PA is not the sales tax on clothing. It's not right, nada, nothing, zero. Whoohoo. The Millcreek Mall store has all you need to store your wardrobe of clothes. The sales tax on other points is only 6 per cent.
And a beach too. And if that does not make you pack your sleeping bag and Erie has something for you. Beautiful Lake Erie where there is swimming, fishing, canoe and boat rentals available and scuba diving. They are all there to be enjoyed during the summer months. There are bikes to rent for two or Surrey.
Erie worst a source of fun for you. It is called Discover Peninsula. It happens once a year in July, a local festival held in the peninsula state park where parking is free and the food divine. Snacks such as kettle corn cooked, it is really real kettle corn is cooked fresh from candy abound. Fresh lemonade, grilled chicken and curly fries. I could go on but you get the message / This festival is a gustatory pleasure.
After all the food and the excitement of the day head to the beach is right there. A sandy beach supervised own sweet awaits.
