Year wise trend in CAT Verbal Ability
Cat 2009 had 20 questions in the section on verbal ability 60 questions in total. CAT 2008 had fewer than 40 questions in this section, the 90 questions while other sections had 25 questions each. CAT 2007 had 25 questions in the verbal ability section, which is the same as the other two sections.
Cat 2009 Verbal Ability section was moderate level of difficulty. According to experts, the verbal ability section of CAT 2008 was more difficult as CAT 2007. There were 40 questions on language proficiency, which included 20 questions on grammar and usage of English and 20 questions on reading comprehension, an expert MBA mentioned in the analysis of this section in CAT 2008. This section of CAT 2007 was also moderate to difficult level.

The verbal reasoning questions can take many forms. The most common is the reorganization of the sentences of a paragraph. It could also include paraphrasing what was said in one paragraph.
This section consists of basic questions of the English language. To get a decent score in this section, you only need to be well acquainted with the grammar, words and verbal reasoning. The concepts must be clear, as well as you should know the proper word usage, sentence construction, etc.
