Can someone help me identify some native tribe in the Amazon Basin who carve small wooden bird? Several years ago I saw a documentary about these people and remember the interesting details that we think these figures little bird, which they put on long sticks, become "alive" when they are painted.
Does anyone know what tribe this could be?
I can not be certain that the same thing, but check pages 38 and 39 of this site. If it is anything to go by, it seems that these sculptures could be as original as the Scottish clan tartan.
